A man from Cape Coral, Florida, has claimed the $41 million jackpot from the Florida Lottery, marking a life-changing event for the lucky winner. Darren Martini, aged 57, stepped forward on Wednesday to claim the massive prize resulting from a drawing held on December 24. He decided to accept his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment amounting to $24,559,932.33.
Martini had purchased the winning Florida Lotto Quick Pick ticket at a Publix store located at 3015 Pine Island Road Southwest. As a reward for selling the jackpot-winning ticket, the store will receive a bonus commission of $100,000.
Florida Lottery enthusiasts can look forward to the next drawing, scheduled for Thursday night at 11:15 p.m., with an estimated jackpot of $26.25 million.
