About PICK 4

PICK 4 is an easy and fun game offered by the Pennsylvania Lottery, it has many ways to win and exciting prizes. The PICK 4 game has Day and Evening draws, 7 days per week. The maximum prize amount for the PICK 4 game is $5,000 for the base game or $2,400 for the Wild Ball addon. Drawings for the "Day" game are held every day at 1:35 PM, while the "Evening" numbers are drawn at 6:59 PM respectively. Both the Day and Evening game draws can be watched on television or streamed online.

The PICK 4 Day and the PICK 4 Evening games share the same rules, odds, parameters and prize amounts.

How to Play PICK 4

To play PICK 4, a player chooses between 1 and 5 "panels" on their payslip. Each panel can be considered as a "play" or "game". On each panel selected, a player can choose any 4 digit number between 0000 and 9999, or they can use the "Quick Pick" option to have the computer randomly select numbers for them.

Play Type

Next, a player needs to select their play type. There are two main play types as listed below. It is important to note that a player can win both a "Straight" and a "Box" play on the same game, but only on a 50¢ play.

Straight Play

To win a "Straight" play, players need to match all 4 digits in exact order. This wins the top prize of $5,000.

Box Play

There are 4 ways to win on a "Box" play as explained below. The win amounts shown here are based on a $1 play. For win amounts based on a 50¢ play, subtract 50% from these figures.

1. 4 way box - Player matches 3 digits plus 1 different digit. This wins $1,200 on the base game or $390 if a Wild Ball is used.
2. 6 way box - Player matches 2 pairs of digits. This wins $800 on the base game or $260 if the Wild Ball is used.
3. 12 way box - Player matches 1 pair plus two distict digits to win $400 on the base game or $130 if the Wild Ball is used.
4. 24 way box - Player matches distict digits in any order to win $200 on the base game or $60 if the Wild Ball is used.

Wild Ball

The "Wild Ball" is an addon for PICK 4. While the game rules and logic remains the same, the prize amounts for Wild Ball wins are lower, since it greatly increases a players odds of winning by allowing the player to replace any number from their base play with the Wild Ball.

The prize amounts for Wild Ball wins are shown below.

1. Straight - $2,400.
2. 4 way box - $390.
3. 6 way box - $260.
4. 12 way box - $130.
5. 24 way box - $60.
