About Powerball PA

Powerball is multi-jurisdictional lottery game offered in Pennsylvania by the PA Lottery. This well loved game is famous for its massive jackpots. Drawings are televised live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11PM ET. The Powerball draws are held by the Florida Lottery from the studio at their headquarters in Tallahassee.

How to Play PA Powerball

While the Powerball lottery game has incredible prizes, it is extremely simple to play. To play the Powerball lottery in Pennsylvania, you will need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Purchase a Ticket

To play the Powerball lottery game in Pennsylvania, you must first purchase a ticket from an authorized lottery retailer or buy a digital ticket online.

The cost of a single Powerball ticket is $2. You can also add on the Double Play option for an additional $1 per ticket, which gives you the opportunity to win additional prizes by matching the five white numbers without the Powerball. The Power Play option can also be added for an additional $1 per ticket, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times depending on the Power Play number drawn.

Step 2: Choose Numbers

When you purchase a Powerball ticket, you will be asked to choose five numbers from a pool of 69 white balls and one number from a pool of 26 red Powerballs. You can choose your numbers manually or select the "quick pick" option to have the numbers randomly generated for you.

Step 3: Check your numbers

The Powerball drawing takes place every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. You can check the winning numbers here, or by watching the drawing on TV. Compare your numbers to the drawn numbers to see if you've won.

Step 4: Claim Your Prize

If you have won a prize, you can claim it at any authorized lottery retailer or at the Pennsylvania Lottery headquarters in Middletown.

Prizes up to $600 can be claimed at any authorized lottery retailer, while prizes over $600 must be claimed at the Pennsylvania Lottery headquarters or at a claim center. You will need to provide a valid government-issued ID and the winning ticket to claim your prize.
